input on lowered suspension??
I am getting ready to get the suspension for my 71 Chevy C10 stepside 2wd with 454 motor and want to lower it down pretty low with 15 in wheels. (I want to lower it with springs, NO airbags. Mainly because of cost.)
My thoughts are to get 5 in drop springs with another 1 in lowering block for the rear. I already have 2 1/2 drop spindles in the front ready to install and the front springs were already cut to lower (dont know the drop) front before I got the truck. My biggest question is I want the Truck to ride really nice, car like. Do not want stiff suspension. Can anyone here tell me of a great riding combo. Can some tell me how is the ride with lowered springs with the look I am looking for. Any input would be great, Thanks, Rich |

If you want a smooth ride, then go with McGaughy's springs. I've got their coils in the rear of my truck and I love them. Heck, the rear rides nicer than my '03!! Just remember, if you go a full 6" in back you're gonna need to also get the adjustable panhard bar, or your rear end will not be centered.

6 inch rear spring, adjustable bar or super bar, shock relocators, and good shocks.
I've done it a ton of times and it's a sure fire winner. Rides good, doesn't bottom out, and looks killer.
