'67 Chrome grill inserts

I see a lot of '67 trucks with chrome grills and headlight bezels. Are people chroming the stock ones, or can these be bought already chromed? If so, where and how much? Thanks for any replies.

My understanding is that early 67 were painted but later 67 it was an option to have them chromed. In 68 they were all chromed. As far as I can tell this info is true but I forget where I came across it.

Chrome

It's not chrome, it's aluminum. You can polish it to make it look like chrome.

I bought my polished grille loops at the dealer. They were reasonably priced.

The headlight bezels are not available through GM anymore though, so you have to go aftermarket on them. They are available from most any 67-72 parts place.

What's the GM part #'s for the polished grill loops?? I know alot of the GM parts guys will tell you they can't look a particular part up, but are able to if you can provide them a part number.

My parts guy at the dealership restores trucks as a hobby. He keeps 67-68 loops in stock, as well as 69-70 and 71-72 grille pieces, pulleys, brackets, hood hinges, fenderwells, all that stuff. He keeps it on the shelf.

I've hooked up a lot of DFW guys with him, and they are always happy to find a good parts guy. This old **** ain't in the computer, it's in a worn out parts book he keeps under the counter under his computer.

Any DFW guys who are interested, send me a PM and I'll hook you up with him.
