Talking Ideas on filler neck setups for blazer tank

As a follow up to a recent thread on my blazer tank fuel line setup,

What have you used for filler necks and caps for the poly tank.

The filler neck is very small compared to the original tank.

Filler locations, source for filler hose for the small poly filler neck, venting and any other important information about completing the filler setup.

thanks for all input.

I'll give you the ones I have. The second one is an idea I got from the board here.

I used "belows flex hose" to come from the tank to the "Cool Cap" there are 2 sizes that must be used, 1 1/2 for the neck and 1 1/4 for the tank, also used heavy duty clamps for the hoses, regular worm clams will leak due to the steel lining in the belows hose. works like a champ and is very flexible....also put the cool cap in my wheel well...

Chevybill....
I got my rubber hose with the steel lining locally here in Jackson for less than $20 (had extra length left). It is actually for gas, diesel, etc.... It is the right size for the blazer tanks, and I used hose clamps like meangreen described. I used an S-10 filler neck and shortened it as short as possible, then welded an exhaust reducer to go from 1-1/2" filler neck to the 1-1/4" hose size. Then hid it behind the marker light (used the instructions from the FAQ page).
If you want to come to Jackson, I can take you over to the place....or if you want me to buy it for you and mail it to you, just PM me and we can work it out.

Mississippi Rubber. It is more or less a hose company. Commercial fuels, hydraulics, safety mats, etc...

lots of pics

what i did is took a bedside from a 77 square body, made the door flip open and have the filler neck behind that. it was going to be on the rear/driver side/inner bedside.

BUT
i ended up having a clearance issue with the side marker light and the filler neck which already was modified to go down at a sharper angle with some header tube. i had some options, shave the sidemarker, then the other 3, or modify the filler neck. i ended up scrapping the bedside/door contraption before welding it, and ended up making just a box come out from the inner bedside. basically i was looking for an extra quarter inch, and that was the simplest thing i could do.

soon i'm going to get a spray in bedliner, and the box will be black and the lip on the filler neck will be taped off.

I took a gas door and filler neck from a 90's chevy pu, then got the filler neck from a early 80's chevy van. The van fill neck reduces from the pickup fill neck down to the fuel tank fill. The van fuel fill also has a 45% bend so that it can connect to the fill. I used regular fuel fill hose from O'reillys. Also the pickup fuel fill has a 5/8 inch vent fitting in the side, with the correct heaterhose fitting, I ran 5/8 fuel hose, from a boat supply store from the tank to the filler.

Hope this helps

If you want any pics, let me know
