I have a short wide bed off a 1967 truck that I want to use on my 72 longbed after I cut down the frame. Obviously the 72 has side markers and the 67 does not. Should I shave the 72 front side markers, or put side markers in the 67 bed?

If I shave the front side markers, are there any legal issues? Anyone had any problems driving a truck that was supposed to have side markers that were shaved?

I think it depends on the state you drive it in. I would guarantee you never have any problems in Georgia. Some other states will be otherwise.

I would shave them. If they are not there there should not be a problem. If they were installed and not working thats where I could see the inspection guys getting stickey.

If you plan on driving it regularly, keep 'em and weld the rear holes in from your 72 bed (exactly what I did); they do serve a purpose. If it's a show truck or driven infrequently, shave 'em.

Here in Kentucky I do not think there are any rules. But you do have to have at least one head light and one tail light and a little braking power.
