Hyd. clutch setup what all is needed?
Hey everybody, I finally have a late model 5 speed manual for my 70 c 10 with a vortec engine. What parts will I need to locate or modify for this conversion? Any ideas on a crossmember? Will I need something special for the engine and tranny since the engine came with an automatic originally?
The tranny is coming from behind a 4.3 V-6. How will I connect my clutch pedal to the hyd. clutch? Where could I check on ratios for this tranny? It is out of a 99 or 2000 truck. What am I going to need for the speedometer connection? any input is appreciated

yes, you will need a manual flywheel, and a pilot bushing that goes in the back of the crank... you can also get pilot bearings, but i prefer the bushings How will I connect my clutch pedal to the hyd. clutch? you will have to have a rod to go from the master cylinder, to the pedal arm... then you will have to drill a hole into your pedal arm and use a brake M/C rod bolt to bolt the rod to the arm What parts will I need to locate or modify for this conversion? LOCATE: clutch master cylinder clutch slave cylinder section of metal tubing with bubble flares tubing bender clutch m/c rod clutch pedal arm flywheel clutch/pressure plate pilot bushing clutch fork MODIFY: make hole in firewall for clutch m/c bend tubing to go from master to slave cylinder make hole in clutch arm for rod to hook to thats all i know for sure

your original pedal assembly will work if you drill the hole into the clutch arm for the m/c rod.... the clutch/pressure plate, and clutch fork will be different from hydralic to manual clutch though
