i used to work at a big a, but i believe they were bought out by federated auto parts. not positive, but i'm pretty sure big a is no more. but most good auto parts stores wouold be able to cross check that number.

There used to be a few Big As around here too but they all went out at the same time. Probably the buy out. One closed all together and a couple others picked up other franchises as they were family owned stores.

Our big A turned into a CarQuest.

You can try www.napaonline.com, and punch the non-NAPA part number into the 3rd search box. It turned up a few things, but they were double cardan joint repair balls/kits, etc.

Big A folded in Tucson, about 5 years ago. I tracked down the machinist and got him to work up my last engine, an L6 292. He's got his own shop now, calls it P.O. Machine shop. I'm not sure I should ask him what "P-O" stands for, but I gathered his deal with CarQuest was not to his liking. D@nm good machinist.
