Helloooooooo.....
Anybody in here? Almost 2 days and no new burb post/replies? I know it's the beginning of the month, and we're all busy. yeah that's it. me personally, looks like 10-12 hr days 6 days a week for the rest of the year.
How about everybody else? What are your "burb" plans for the next 3 months? I've only had mine a month, so driving it a while is big on my list for now.

Just so you know that all have not died..... Just had a new carb put on mine, old one was junk (not even rebuildable) Still have some settings to tweak, as it idles high, and tends to run on when shutoff, but it's getting there. It's an edelbrock w Elec choke. Things have certainly improved... If only I could get some fuel mileage out of the beast..... Darn thirsty 454!

isn't run on more of a timing issue? or is it too lean?

I need to tackle the bottoms of the rear doors on my truck soon. I'm not sure I can fit it in before winter, though. They've got some surface rust coming up on the inside lip. The good news is that the repairs made nine years ago have lasted this long!
Longer term, I need new front wheelhouses, need to fix one small rust spot and repaint the tailgate above the pinstripe (top 6"), need to touch up a couple of low spots in the rear, etc. Ultimately, I'd love to repaint the front suspension and crossmember as well as the rear 3' of frame (including the receiver hitch). The good news is that she still holds up fairly well. The new striker bushings I ordered should be here any day now. I'm hoping I don't booger up any of the striker bolts when I remove them. The good news is that I don't have rust in the area of any of the strikers. The bad news is that there are six of 'em to replace. When I do the rear doors, I'm thinking "get the rust out" and then use an epoxy primer to seal things really well and to get good adhesion. Some repairs I had a guy do a few years back with epoxy paint have held up pretty well. Now, all I've got to do is to find a supplier for auto paints in the Chesapeake area. The Yellow Pages and online Superpages aren't any help...

Could be too lean, but we'll definitely check the timing. Gotta get this done before we put away the mustang (I know it's ford, but it is fun to drive), and I drive the Burb fulltime.

I'm just slowly gathering parts. I think I have found a good "donor" burb for cheap so work should be moving on. That is, after i finish my fence and sideyard.

Still here, just don't get on the computer as much. I have big plans for the Burb, which include rebuilding the current drivetrain and dropping it into a newer rust free body and frame. For now, she's still running, and doing weekend duty. Smokes like crazy, and the rust is starting to get serious, but she's still going. And the mosquito population in my neighborhood is down.

I need to put new injectors in mine. It`s giving tell-tale signs, missing and popping a bit at higher rpm/full throttle. They`re original w/140,000miles.It ran like a top down to Charlotte. It`s cool to have a big ol`machine that`s so good on the open road.It got between 19 and 20 mpg rolling at 75 mph, too.
Jim,if you need parts,let me know.I have a pretty complete`86.
