newer seats

Anybody put seats from a newer model in there truck? Bench or buckets? I'm thinking about swapping a newer bench into my 69' and was wondering what might bolt in..

Yeah I am actually wanting to do the same thing with my 69. the factory bench seat is thrashed, so I am gonna just go look around some junk yards and find two nice bucket seats that match. as far as the bolt patern being the same... I would think they would be close, but all you need to do is drill some new holes and your set.. how easy that is, I haven't tried it yet..

I actually bought my C20 with what I think to be a 88 to mid 90s style bench seat, because of the material and seat frame design, and it was just inches narrow on both sides and I'd slide back and forth because no modifications were done to bolt it in properly. I finally found a near perfect bench from a 71 GMC in junkyard, the foam is aged a bit, but it had been recovered fairly recently. Try the junkyard route, you might score nice buckets or a bench.

Just thought I'd share my experience.

I have a 98 contoured bench in my 67. I had to temporarly shim the front up 1/2" so it feelt right. I have no tank in my cab but you can still use it if the stock tank in still in place.

I am going to gut the brackets down and pie cut them to get the angle needed.

I'm using bucket seats from a mid 90's Hyndai. They're small enough to fit in the truck without taking up unneccesary space, but are very firm and comfortable too. Also, making new seat brackets from tube steel was simple with these seats.

Here is what I have in my 70 at the moment. They are out of a 93 extended cab Chevy C1500. I am currently replacing them with 6 way buckets out of 97 C1500 extended cab. They 88-98 Chevy truck seats go in very easily and are super comfortable.

Been lookin for seats for my stepside project. My brother left me a junk 84 buick century. Hadn't even thought about it having bucket seats. Well went out the other day and pulled them. They actually fit pretty good. Match the floor contours even. I'll need to find a center console and get them upholstered to match but otherwise I kinda like them. Free's a good price too! They're the nice wide flat buckets so they fit in a truck pretty well.

With the width of a 67-72 cab several seats will fit. Late 90's and 00's are popular, Ford and Dodge has nice ones. Buckets are endless with some mods about any will fit. Its your choice plenty of em' to choose from.

Late model Silverado fit nice, very comfortable and have the built in shoulder belts.Theres even room for the fold down jump seat/console. Only front right corner of drivers seat had to have a shim to level. Tilt wheel helps with clearance since these set out a little farther.
