Does anyone know the actual weight of these beds?

I am building some 4X4 to place under the bed to allow for the frame to roll out forward...
I was looking at some caster wheels and some are rated at 200 lbs and some are at 175 lbs...just want something enough to roll it fore and aft and not too far along....
Thoughts?

Just a guess is 300 to 400 lbs. Over Labor Day weekend 2 men & a boy (myself,
another grown man & his son), lifted a '71 longbed from a rolling dolley into the back
of my box van.

Either wheels should be fine, IMO.

I can tilt one up on end by myself, probably about 3-350

I considered this but, well, I wanted to save the end of the bed and my frame is forward to do this at the moment.
Am uncertain if the side bed walls are strong enuff to support the entire wieght if I place 4X4's under the side bed panels...Am considering going under the bed thru the wheel openings...
Ill see what I can do I supppose...I am figuring that the 4X4 is plenty strong enuff to support it!

me and one buddy picked mine up and moved but its kinda front heavy. so be careful it wants to tip forward

I would set your dollies up so the weight could be supported on the bottom of the bed, not the sides. If you have the room. When you take it off set things up so you can "walk" the whole works backwards off the truck. But before you take it off block the rear end and remove the back wheels from the truck ( if you know what I mean) With the wheels off you don't have to lift it so high ( to clear the tires in fron of the whells wells) and the tires don't trip you as you shuffle walk backwards. It worked real slick for me & a couple buddies. ps Be sure to remove your tail light plug!!!!!!!!!!!

This is where I am at with it...
As you can see I am limited with space to the rear of the frame... so, trying to go straight up, then wide with some 4X4's I am attempting to clear the rear axle as I can't get it out due to very stubborn bolts!

Here's what I created to get around removing the bed off of the frame.
I was limited with space as I have WAY too much stuff, so, this allows me to roll the bed over the frame and rear axle...
all costs were at $100.00
4 4X4 cedar lengths, 2 were cut to fab the legs
2 lengths of 8' 2X4, for the supports throughout
Simpson braces, nails, and 125lb metal wheels casters
Took all of about 5 hours to assemble
Dont expect this to be like metal, it does move a little bit, but if you are slow and patient, it works just fine!
Support the bed accordingly, tends to want to drift from side to side when I lifted it front and back!

I still need to support the upper 4X4's under the 90* so to keep it from flexing!
