Wow, that is a sweet truck you got there, Looks like you put some time and money into it. I am sure you could answer alot of questions that come up on this boad about the way you did it.
All the right options too. Time for a silly question How come most all the new boardmembers don't want to list there location. It does help alot to let folkes know where you are from.

Hey Hutch -- I see you are from Grapevine, TX ! I was there about 1 1/2 years ago. Ate at the Hooters in town. Waitress told us we were in a dry county, and we had to join the "club" to get served a beer. We had to fill out a form and everything. Never heard of that before.
Went to Nascar driving school at the Texas speedway. Awesome!! That is a great state you live in.

It's not dry county here, Some of the local cities are though and do require a (free) unicard though. It is mostly politics.
I really think that in your case she was looking for you name and address. Them Hooters Girls are a wild bunch. I meet alot of folkes that are attending TMS Driving Schools around here. Everyone seems to have a good time.

Nice,
Did you cut down the bed and truck to what a original type short box dimensions would be? Something looks different about it that makes it look like a cross between a short and long box. |

Sorry guys, lol I changed my profile to show my location. To answer a question by a previous poster, yes it was a longbed I had shortened professionally. No I didnt shorten the bed it was a hard to find shortwide in good condition.
Here's the lowdown, first you have to remove longbed..DUH! lol and then you place jacks under middle of frame on both sides. You then cut the rivets off of the back of the cab support and then you cut 12 inches out of the straight part under the cab. 12 inches exactly!! It is very important to measure this precicely! after you have made the cuts you simply roll the rear portion forward to meet the other half(assuming of course you have removed the driveshaft) then you weld the two together. I opted to have supports welded inside the frame to strenghthen it. After this is complete you need to cut 6 inches off the rear of the frame. A short wheel base is 18 inches shorter than a LWB. There are holes already in the frame for your rear bumper. Now you are ready to install your short bed. TADA!!!b Hope this helps you guys its really not that hard.... GOOD LUCK!! |

I love that two tone paint. I think it looks excellent on shorbox fleet sides. Do you have any interior pics. Would love to see them.

So if I read this right you cut the frame down to make a shortbox frame but left the longbox sheet metal the same? Or was that what you had professionally shortened?

No gee emm, the bed that is on it is an actual shortwide bed 6 foot long off of a short wheel base truck. I sold the long bed.
