I think BF Goodrich is the only manufacturer left making tires for 16.5 rims, unless you want a skinny trailer-type tire--but you wouldn't put those on a wider rim anyway.

Dunlop and some others are still making tires in 31, 33 and 35 inch x 16.5-inch diameter. There are some off-road only tire manufacturers as well. I just bought two 9.75 inch x 16.5 inch Firestone steel wheels for $12.50/each. I would have paid more and may have to when I find another couple to match. There were other 8.25 and 9.75 wheels at the swap meet but they did not have the stock hubcap clips I wanted or I would have bought them too. In fact I would have bought them without the clips if they would have worked since I can install the clips. Prices are low but it really depends upon who is looking. I have to agree with MJN on the sizes!

catseye...whatcha got? Stock '68 hubcaps? LOL!

You know that's true Mike. Did you ever get the 327 PS bracket/pulley pic you asked for? I noticed you had a 16.5 trim ring in a batch of stuff you had for sale. Where did you get that? Does anyone make them?

Yep...I got the proper stock fan spacer from americanrider...he had a couple laying on his garage floor! My fan my be wrong since it is/was approximately 19+ inches in diameter. I "radiused" the tips in my precision machining center (belt sander...LOL!) to about 18.625-inch diameter. It works great. I will worry about a 100 pt. stock fan and shroud later. At least now the fan sits where it belongs in relation to the shroud.

I hope I did not suggest that I would sell my NOS 16.5 trim rings! I understand that they are still available through most parts stores. I am going to run Anniversary Gold wheels, stock hubcaps and stainless trim rings.

What wheels are you running?

8.25's...I need to replace one eventually though. It is bent a bit out of round and it hops from 50-60 mph. I try to drive 80 so I don't have to notice it.

That's the way! Are yours stock with the hubcap clips? 16.5's? I will keep my eyes open for one. I noticed that the shape of the wheel is different on different styles too. One vendor had 4 wheels at Monroe and all 4 were a slightly different shape even though two were 8.25 x 16.5 and two were 9.75 x 16.5. One had hubcap bumps on the outside and the other had them on the inside. I never even looked closely at the 8.25's but they did not have the clips so I was not interested anyway. If you find an exact shape that does not have the clips, just drill the rivets out of some old split rims (they are ususally free) and drill your new wheels to mount the clips. The center section has to be the perfect size for your stock hubcaps though. The search continues...LOL!
