18" wheels? Tire sizes?
Anyone here have 18" wheels on a lowered truck (fleetside)? I'm trying to figure out the best wheel/tires size combo. I've done some preliminary measurements and was thinking 18x9.5's in the rear with 5.25" backspacing with 285/40/18 tires. And 18x8's up front with 4.25" backspacing with 225/45/18 tires. For the rear I used my existing wheels/tires as a starting point. They are 15" wheels with 225/70/15's with 4.25" backspacing. I figured I can add an inch of tire to the inside and and 1.25" to the outside, which equals about a 285 tire, which is 11.22" wide. So maybe a 10" wide wheel would look better? For the fronts, I like the 4.25" backspacing, but want an 8" wide wheel. Any other suggestions?

Ditto on that. I want to run 18's and was thinking on a little more meat since my truck isn't as slammed as Smalled67. I want to run 255/55/18 fronts on 18x8's and 285/50/18 backs on 18x9.5's, I like equal height tires. I see a guy in Tucson, AZ that runs 18" Torque Thrust II's on 18x8 front with 18x9.5 rear with 255/50/18 fronts and 295/45/18 rears.

A thing to consider is rotating the tires. You can't rotate tires if you run different size front and back. And most Low profile performance tires, are soft compound and wear fast. Also something to ask about when buying tires, is if they are for trucks, they do have differnt tires for cars and SUV/trucks

I used 17's on mine. They are 8" wide P235/60R-17.

I am either running Nitto NT404's or Yokohama AVS's, so they are definitly rated for a truck and 149mph, hehe.

Do some research. You will find a much better selection of tires in 20's than you will in 18's. Your better off going with 17's or 20's if you want the same size wheel all around. If your going to stagger the sizes then 18/20 is the best looking combo and you can find decent tire sizes for the rear....
