Your sig says you have a 400 trans, why do you need a kick down bracket? For the most part 350 transmissions never came behind big blocks so I don't know if GM ever made one. So I would think your choices are to modify a small block bracket to work or get an after market one from summit that mounts on the carb. Spectre part# SPE 2428

TH 400's used an electric kickdown switch, either mounted to the carb(pre 71) or mounted to the gas pedal 1971 and up.

Since you're only asking for a bracket I assume you already have the switch, correct? You should have power coming through the firewall via a gromet from the fuse block (red wire), and an orange wire coming up from your transmission (goes to detent solenoid inside transmission). Both of these hook to the switch.

Since you're pre '71 your switch probably mounts to the carburetor. You'll probably need the ones in the lower right-hand corner of this pic:

Thanks for the input, guys. I was told when I bought the truck that it had a 400, but come to find out it has a 350. The engine or tranny was swapped somewhere down the line. The option sticker is gone from the glovebox. Will that be a problem for the 396?

How long it will last will depend on how heavy your right foot is. It will basicly last as long as any 350 if you just drive it normally, but a big block will be hard on it if you drive it hard. I wouldn't just pull it out, but if it has a short life span you might think about replacing it with a 400. Good Luck!
