A-arms

I am going to have my upper and lower a-arms powder coated and was wondering if there is a way to get the lower ball joints out besides pressing them out. I really dont care if I destroy the ball joints as they will be replaced. Also am I going to have to grind out the powder coating to press in the new ones.

If its still on the truck, pull the spring out, put a jackstand under the a-arm next to the ball-joint and about 3-4 good wacks with a hammer.

You can "pound" them out...but take 'em to a shop and press them out. Several autoparts places will loan you a tool to press them out, makes for a much easier job and no damage. Stick with MOOG and/or TRW for replacements, alot of places sell cheaper stuff (and there is a reason it cheaper...junk)
