I have a cowl that is stock with no antenna hole.Where to put a antenna. What a about a hidden one,where and what kind,any idels?

Junk Shack,(Radio Shack), has one that ya attach to the inside of your windshield. For the most part, it's hidden from view, and takes only a small hole in dash to route it. Just my $.02

You can also mount it under your dash.
Sounds crazy, I know...but it works.

GMC Pauls sells the kind that mount in the top of windshield for $39.95 I think. These type will not work under the dash because the signal will not pass thru metal.

BEST ONE I'VE SEEN IS THE ONE IN THE GAS TANK SPOUT HOLE, BUDDY OF MINE DOES THEM.

AFTER MOVING THE GAS TANK FROM BEHIND THE SEAT, YOU CAN BUY A POWER ANTENNA THAT FITS DOWN IN THE GAS TANK HOLE IN THE SIDE OF THE CAB. THERE IS A LITTLE WELDING REQUIRED BUT THE PIECE IS CUSTOM MADE AND CAN BE ORDERED THROUGH A COUPLE COMPANIES.

ive thought about putting a retractable in a stake pocket in the front of the bed.

I have a late model bed on my 69 and have the antenna in the stack pocket hole.

AutoLoc selss one from $47.00. It's pretty trick, and is available with a built in amp. It mounts under the dash also.1-800-873-4038 www.autoloc.com.

I bought one from rb's auto. I think it is there brand. It was around 45 dollars it think. I mounted it on my back window in the lower corner and ran the cable for it with the dome light wiring. I had to get a longer cord for it. Low68

The antenna mounted under the dash does in fact work. I had mine up in there for a while.

On a '69 I had a few years ago I mounted a standard 31" antenna horizontally behind the grille. You couldn't see it after a quick squirt of flat black paint and it worked great.

I ran a insulated copper wire under/behind the rubber windshield gasket at the very top.

I used real small coax cable from the radio then though the small drain hole at the base of the windshield then up to the top of the windshield then ran a 33 inch long unshielded wire horizontal.

Hope that makes since :0)
