Dont bother with a steam cleaner. I work for a detail shop I do the interiors. Red will not come out ...It is a DYE and it gets into the material of the carpet etc.... The only way we have had this fixed is to goto a auto Upholstery and carpet place and they bleach the stain out then re-dye carpet to match... I have tried all the chemicals that say they will remove red and have yet to find a soulution.. .Dont waste money on machine Good Luck

Re: can anyone tell me about steam cleaners for auto carpet?

While it may not help in this situation, the best carpet stain remover I've found is ZEP Commercial "Spot Carpet Cleaner" in the aerosol can. It may or may not be available in your area, as the only place I've been able to find it around here is Home Depot.

I've got two kids (3 and 6) and it's removed everything they've managed to spill on our beige carpet in the past 3 years.
