steering column / shaft question

What determined the use of the separate intermediate steering shaft vs the one piece column and shaft that I found on my '67? I bought a tilt for it but now see that I will have to find a lower shaft to go with it. What shaft do I need to look for when using a converted van tilt in my '67?

Re: steering column / shaft question

Thanks, I had read that before but it only talks about collapsing the shaft, not application stuff. I assume some trucks came with a separate lower shaft. I bought a truck non-tilt auto column from a board member that was two piece and he included a lower shaft. What trucks used one piece column /shafts and what used two piece is my question.

Re: steering column / shaft question

there are a few differnt years that had the part your looking for, some on newer trucks than ours, but some the splines are different, so make sure you get the right one,,,There's several differnt types out there.
