look for one off a 3/4 ton though, it'll be bigger, and bigger IS better.

Re: sway bar ?

Yes it will, if your Blazer did not originally come with a sway bar be sure to get the sway bar brackets riveted to the frame off the donor truck that the front sway bar bushing retainers bolt to without them there is no way to bolt it on.

Re: sway bar ?

Where really does the sway bar come in handy? I do not have one and never notice my truck "swaying" around curves. Maby I am not going fast enought? Was just wondering what purpose it serves?

It keeps the cab/frame from leaning as much around turns. When the truck starts to lean, the outside wheel is higher relative to the frame than the inside wheel. The sway bar "tries" to force both wheels to remain at the same height relative to the frame. So in a turn, as the outside wheel moves up (frame moving down) the sway bar translates that motion to the inside wheel.

You can imagine as the sway bar tries to pull the inside wheel off the ground the truck leans less to the outside of the turn. The thicker the bar, the less it will twist under a given load, and the greater the effect.

If none of that makes sense, there are other ways to describe it. All I can say is drive a truck with one and you will feel the difference.

I'm in the process of going to a 1.25" front bar and a 21mm Camaro rear bar, all with poly bushings. Should be ready to carve soon

Re: sway bar ?

You would think GM would have put thses on all their cars and trucks?? Front and on the rear. Instead of making the sway bar an option.

Re: sway bar ?

Not to hijack the thread but I have a question about swaybars in general when you lower a truck do you need to do something with the front sway bar?

Re: sway bar ?

Funny you ask. I just put the front on and I was sick of hitting the old bushings on curbs. I definately didn't want to mess up the new ones either. ECE sells a low profile sway bar mount for lowered trucks. I seems like a good product and it's only $20/pair, but I didn't want to wait for shipping. I mounted it srtaight to the frame. The gemoetry works with the lowered front end and there are no clearance issues (it may look close in some of the pics but there's plenty of room).

Funny, I thought about doing the same thing...

But I got the ECE brackets instead.
