Pro Street tires
I'm building a truck with the pro street look..(always liked it) and have already tubbed it an additional five inches. I don't want to narrow the axle however, and would like to try and fit some Hoosier 29x18.50x15 Pro Street Radials under there, on a Centerline 12inch wheel with 8-9 inches backspacing. I have read a couple posts that have stated a few of you have pulled this off.
My question: Do the tires stick out from the bedside any? Or are they in line and seemingly "tucked under"? I have measured and measured, and it seems it will be a tough fit, to not rub the side of my leaf springs, and still looked tucked. I have almost consigned myself to go with the 29x15.5x15. size tires to be sure, however, if someone has a pic of their ride with these shoes on, I would LOVE to see some. I am trying to stuff as much as possible on there, but don't really want the expense of narrowing axle, etc. Thanks!

backinblack, I tubbed my 70 stepside with 31x16.50's. I used 8" backspacing. The sidewall is about even with the fender. I saw a truck at the Charlotte auto fair that had 29x18.50's on a fleetside. He did not cut the rearend. It looked perfect. I think he said 8" backspacing... it's been a couple years. Hope this helps some.
