56 - is it worth this?

Hello.
I'm new to the forum.

I am thinking about buying this 56, just wanted to get some opinions as to it value. It has the 265 V8, 3speed on the column, new clutch, new brakes, new wooden bed, new windshield. There is very little rust on it. The passenger fender will need to be replaced. The cab corner look and feel solid. The doors are good. Engine starts easy, runs smooth.
He's asking $7000

Thanks.

He'll have it for a long time. Its a nice truck for restoration but 7k is almost a restored price. $2500 if your desperate for it.

Check Ebay and compare prices, a restored 55 on there is at $15,000, a good project in AR is at $1900, quite a variety of prices on original and modified ones.

My 59 short step big window is on the market for $23K or trade and I'm losing money. The 56 is worth what you're willing to pay but check it out closely especially for hidden rust if its not an original desert truck. Buyer beware.

too much

I agree with everyone else. He is asking too much. It looks like a solid truck, but nothing really special. I'd offer $2000 to $2500 max.

SEVEN GRAND??? I agree that is pretty pricey! The figure of $2500.00 is more like it. Offer the 2K and go up to 2.5. My 2-cents worth, rico_bob

Re: 56 - is it worth this?

I agree as well. A $7K truck would be the same truck with a VERY clean engine bay, chrome and stainless all around, no dents, decent buffable paint AND a big back window. Either find the truck i just described for $7K or don't pay any more than $2,500 to $3K for this one. BTW: You will spend MORE on THIS truck to get it to the point I described than you would if you found a truck already at that point. The Old Car Trader last month had about ten nice 55-59 trucks for a much better price/deal.
