Emissions

Just got back form testing and it failed the co% on the 50/15 test (50 pounds resistance @ 15 mph) 3.37%, 2.05% allowed. Hydrocarbons are good as is the N.O.
My timing is 12 initial 12 vacuum and 12 centrifuge all in around 2800 rpm.
I'm running a 180 thermostat.
The hydro's tell me my cats are good. Spark plugs are good and I rebuilt the dizzy.
I'm thinkig its the timing or the temp. hopeing to get some advice before I dive into it. thanks
I've got a jet kit for my carb if leaning the cruse mode will help.

Re: Emissions

Well some helpfull hints that probably will get you past the sniffer.

Go to a stock t-stat for the time being, 195*.
Retard the timing back to factory specs 6* or so should do it.
Go in with a fresh oil change.

Before you take the truck in, drive it long enough to get it to operating temp 200*+. Do this and you should pass with no problems.

Re: Emissions

Thanks for the tips. I went 1 stage lean on the carb and passed with flying colors plus it should get better mileage!
