57 chevy 3100

I wanted to know if the frames are the same on a 1955 100 series and a 1957 3100 series.
Thanks

You are talking about an early 55, I can't remember the name of the series. If yes, the early 55 and the 57 are different.

Welcome to the boards sammytued.
If you ment the '55 second series "3100" being the same as the 1957 3100, the differences are very minor (I cant find my assembly manual).
These should swap with little to no modifications.
The '55 first series is a completely different animal.

'55 to '57 second series frames will all interchange. '58 - '59 frames are longer, but will still work as a '55 - '57 frame if you lop a few inches off the front of the frame. '55 first series frames will not work for any second series '55 - '59 pickup.

No, they are not the same. Within the TF series (late '55-'59), the primary difference between GMC and Chevrolet frames is the front crossmember. Otherwise they are nearly identical and bodywork from either a GMC or a Chevy will bolt to either chassis (may need to obtain/remove the Chevrolet radiator/front fender support frame bracket)...
