Thanks for all the positive comments on my 72 GMC Sierra Grande 4x4. Some of you reguested pics of the motor and interior, so I have posted a few here. Like I said in my first post, I still need to get the radio installed and a few other incidentals completed.

Looking great. What is your fan shroud out of?

Did you have to modify your firewall at all to get the bbc in?

I think the fan shroud is factory, as it was there when I bought the truck. No modifications to the firewall. We set the engine forward enough for the valve covers and MSD distributor to clear the firewall.

How comfy are the seats to you ? I have a 98 bench mounted the same way. I think I need to cut the brackets and drop it lower /angle it back.

Yes that is the factory BBC 2wd fan shroud. Nice rig

Do you know how far forward you moved the engine? Can you shoot a pic of the frame where the transfer case mounts - if you didn't fill the old holes that will give me a good idea how far forward everything moved.

The engine/transmission combo was already in the truck when I bought it, but mounted incorrectly. We had to move the engine forward about an inch and a half, and raise it about an inch. Whoever installed the engine in the truck originally had the manifolds setting directly on the frame!

My mechanic fabricated some engine mounts to correct the problem. I'm not in town right now to shoot some pics for you, but will get some this weekend and post them.

Thanks The dash is actually a Dakota Digital unit. It was in the truck when I bought it. At first I wasn't sure if I was going to like it, but the more I drive the truck, the more I like the digital readouts.
