Cab Trim
Anyone have some helpful tips about re-installing the trim piece that goes on the back of the cab under the window? It's in one piece now, waiting to be put back on.
I didn't care about scarfing the paint when I took it off. Now I care.  Thanks |

Paul, if you're talking about the thin stainless trim that creates the "brake" between a two tone color truck on the cab----they are held on with small plastic clips that slip over a raised metal "T" stud that is attached to the cab body. The plastic clip slips over the "T" and then the stainless just snaps onto the plastic clip. Most of our truck parts dealers stock the clips. If your cab doesn't have the "T" studs, then you have another problem but assuming you removed the trim, then they must have been there. Get new plastic clips as the old ones probably cracked when removed. Hope this helps----let us know-----Huck

I just put the divider trim on Maych and Huck's correct. Put the plastic retainers on the studs first, then just snap the trim onto the retainers. If you have studs missing, Chevy Duty sells replacement studs that screw in.

Used the old clips and the old studs (I can relate to those)
I lucked out. Not technically correct anymore since it's all one color now, but it looks fine to me. Thanks |
