GMC 396 Emblem:Seen One?

I remember seeing a 396 emblem on the front fender of a 67-70 GMC truck before.Haven`t seen one in years.I want to say it was located below the model badges. The characters were tilted and jumbled looking in a kind of silly playful way.Not sure, but I think the numbers were red, white, and blue.I just remembered them and realized I haven`t seen or heard mention of them in my time on this site,or any other.Does anyone have a truck with these or recall ever seeing them?Gotta be rare.

Re: GMC 396 Emblem:Seen One?

Yes, I had a pair laying around a few years back. I robbed the 396 out of the wrecked truck in a yard in OK. Took the emblems just for fun! This truck was a '68 and when I tore the engine down, which I do believe to be completely original and untouched, had .030 over pistons in it making it a 402! Rumor had it that GM had quality control issues with the late 396s and overbored them to 402 specs before they left the factory. I didn't think this started til late '69 though. The emblems are now long gone, when I moved to Texas, I gave a bunch of stuff (30x30 shop) full of parts to an old guy up there.
