Built this after a few trips to the auto wrecker. Has a hole cut in the rad support so it sucks cold air from behind the grille. Should work good and sound great too.

The rubber bellow on the throttlebody is a home depot 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 connector that I put in the microwave to soften it up to fit over the 4" TB. The elbow is another Home Depot short 90* plumbing fixture. The 2 pieces of flex are factory GM pieces off 4 cyl cars. The air box is off a 98 chev truck that a friend of mine gave me. Cost me about $20 in total. The best part is.............No hot engine air!!

Not bad.

I just said screw it, and bought the stuff I need for speed density, lol

My MAF was a big pain in the butt, and I don't think it worked anyways.

How thin/thick is the material? It looks thin and may conduct heat to the point that it makes it inefficient like a regular intake. Would it be a good idea to get something to wrap it? Something that looks good since your engine compartment looks good.

Not trying to rain on your parade just brainstorming. Good idea.

I plan to use the stock TA air ducting, cept where the MAF used to sit, I'll stick a cone filter on for now. Later, I'd love to stick an air box similar to yours on though, that draws air out from infront of the core support. This way it'll at least not be sucking air being blown through the rad, so it won't be hot air.

No offence taken!! I like having other eyes look at something I've made and give suggestions on how to make it better. THANKS. I'll see how it works out next summer and I might try wrapping it with something just to see if it makes a difference.

I'd recommend getting a trans am air box. It'll look a lot cleaner off the get go, then put your MAF at the end of it, and one of those rubber elbows into that air box you have

That looks pretty good! I know when I did a cold air intake on my vette, the difference was definitely noticeable, especially the sound!
