Rear door question
Ok, how do you go about getting the rear window up when the electric motor has stopped working in the down position and the keyswitch doesn't work in the Raise position?
Thanks.

There was a post about this somewhere, but I can't find it. There's supposed to be a switch on the side (inside the quarter panel, I think) that keeps the window from closing if the tailgate is not completely closed. The way I understand it, if this switch is not working right, it can cut off the juice to the window motor.
My old Sub had the same problem, but sometimes I could whack the tailgate with my hand & it would jar it into working, as would hitting an appropriate bump while driving. Be careful if you care about the bodywork. Might search here & find something: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&l...ms&btnG=Search Last edited by jimfulco; 09-27-2005 at 01:06 AM. |

Re: Rear door question
I have a different question. I am also tired of fighting with the dreaded rear window switches. Is there any reason I can not convert this to a manual wind-up window mechanism? This would seem to elminate a lot of head aches. What year manual wind-ups would work for my 79 Burb?
