What did you get done?

This was a pretty busy week, but nothing truck related. I did try to buy new tires for my Dodge, but they only had 3 in stock. Since I had one that was worn out, and I need an inspection I had to do something. I bought one used tire to get me past inspection. Now I have a set that has good tread so it will hold me till they get more in stock.

Today I went to Old Town Spring to a Rod Run. Ran in to a few forum members and talked trucks for a while. Ran into another group of friends and had lunch with them. The weather was awesome so it was great to just hang out and talk even if I didn't have anything to show.

I'll have event coverage up in the pictures forum later. In the meantine, it's Sunday evening and time to ask, "What did you get done?"

Re: What did you get done?

Nothing again.

I did try and track down some of the police wiring. Hoped the flashers were still in the lights but they weren't. Atleast the wiring is there if I wanna put them in later.

Re: What did you get done?

Well I just got home with a new (to me) '85 Chevy SWB Silverado . It's in primer right now (hopefully not for long), and it needs a lot of tightening up, adjusting and, in general, just some good old TLC. It's going to be fun getting her back in shape. Pics of it can be seen at this thread.

Re: What did you get done?

Well for me its more like, what did you get done in a month? Im back to normal for the most part. Our cable just magically came back yesterday Other than that I finally got that 74 C20 farm truck. On the way back home I kept looking into the rearveiw mirror on that 6 hour trip and ideahs kept running around my head. Twin turbo charge small block, nitrous big block, bags, static, 4-link, lader bars, flat black, gloss black, fire engine red, old skool, new school. I finally decided that I am just going to build it how I want my truck to be and with in my cost limits. If it fits in a specific catagory(ratrod, hotrod, protouring) wup-de-do, its my truck and I am going to build that bad boy the way I want. Right now I am waiting on a 73-87 short wheel base frame so I can get the project rolling. After that I am going to try to tackle all the body work I can including painting it. But thats all down the road, as for right now and for Red. All I've done to her is put in some chain doorpulls sence my factory ones broke and I didn't feel like getting new ones. Looks interesting... and I did some alignment work on it. The outside edge of the tires was getting eaten away. Anyways, sorry for the long post, just havn't been around in a while, and I am back to the normal 24/7 hanging around here schedule, and yes I know its worthless without pics, but my camera is here, and my truck is around 1.5 hours away from me at my brothers house.

Re: What did you get done?

I finished moving out of the shop I've been renting for the last 3 years. It's taken quite a few trips and it's a good thing I have my truck with the tommy lift for all the truck parts I've managed to accumulate. I threw out a lot of stuff I'm sure I'll need tomorrow, but it looked more and more like junk the further along I got in cleaning out the shop.

I have the stuff spread out over two states, three shops, my garage and a mini storage now. I should be moving into a new place that has a small shop next month so I'll get to do it all again, I can't wait...

Re: What did you get done?

I cleaned my shop, it took me 3 days, lol

Next week, I'll get her rolling, get the engine running, and hopefully start on the SM465 swap next weekend.

Re: What did you get done?

Didn't get anything done...again. I need to figure out a way to slow LIFE down then I may be able to have more time to work on the truck. Doesn't appear I will be having any extra time as I am starting on a new path of being a business owner. Bought a local guys print shop and am going to put to better use my 15+ yrs. experience. So if anyone needs any shirts, signs or decals done just let me know. Also have access to large format digital ink jet which I thought would be cool to take digital shots of cars at shows and print out large pics on banners, etc. for whoever wants one.

Re: What did you get done?

I actually was quite productive! I installed my lowering shackes, beat the crap out of my rear bumper and tweeked it while putting it back on. It almost looks as good as before my towing mishab. I also did a really deep cleaning to the entire truck (even a nice wax job) so I could meet up with some of the Az folks from the site and BBQ at a local park. Afterwards I still had not had my fill of trucks so I went to a small free weekly show. Good times! This site has really motivated me to play with my truck and expand my network of truck people.
Thanks guys!
Shawn

Re: What did you get done?

hi guys it has been a awhile my internet crashed anyway i have been busy in the garage i have installed the f!@% 9 in rear end, installed the gas tranks and then decided to remove and repaint, the one i finished looks really awsome compared to the old ugly one that is next, i have purchased the dupli-color caliper it is a really good product (blue) i decided to paint the calipers and the outside fins of the rotor and the hub of the rotor they really look trick. i hav also replace a fuel line that a repaired once a few years ago with a rubber line so they will be solid again know i have to instal back on the new frame i pulled the motor out and have planes to send the heads back out the tranny is coming out and am building another one for it i have been really busy but it has been extremly fun.

Re: What did you get done?

Kenny Friend, thanks for asking! Sorry about the late reply, bad week you know how it is...

The pictures of this truck do not do it justice, you couldn't peel us away from it. It is a very clean project. Lots of really nice suspension, exaust and drive train work done. She still needs some TLC but this was by far the biggest hit!
