Ahhh feels like a new truck!

Well over the last week I've managed to rebuild the front and rear suspension, rebuild and installe a new tilt column and installed the new 98 chevy pu seats
All this time I've been putting up with the squeaks and rattles. All it took was 500.00$ and my labor lol. Best money I've spent on that truck in a long time. It's really tough to get motivated to work on vehicles at home, when thats what I do all day.

Anyhow, I wanted to post a few pics of the seat incase anyone is wondering if there is a direct bolt in seat out there. This one is almost a direct bolt in. Had to drill 2 holes and install one 4 inch spacer.

You can be proud of that one! It's great to add the creature comforts of a new truck and still drive our trucks. Let me know how the seat belts go in for you. I need to add those yet and would really like shoulder belts.

I bought these for 300.00 w/belts. I'm sure you could find them cheaper? but these were from LKQ recyclers and they deliver

I had the dodge seats in before but shesh those things where raised too high. I did nothing to this set of seats... just bolted them in and they are just right for my fat arse lol. 6'2 240lb's doesnt leave much room for a seat

wow...looks great. need to put that on my want list. Maybe I can cut down that head rest so that it would look kinda stock.

can you take a pic with the arm rest up? that would be great.

thanks,
jay

Zcast - I've been thinking about a Silverado bench seat like you used for my '67.

Isn't it a bit cramped driving the truck with those seats?

Very nice! I want some too.

Where did you get the tilt steering? Do you have much leg room between the seat under the steering wheel.

Really like it.

Mike

Those are some sweet seats. Look like the ones in my Suburban. Glad they were so easy to install. Wish I had gone that route now. How do they feel when you are driving? Do they put your ankle in an odd position? Mine do. I'm thinking about building up the front end a little to compensate. Jeff.

Actually no, the Dodge seats were cramped though. I think these have somewhat of a narrow back on them so it puts you about as far away as the originals.

These seats have a center track support that bolts to the cab. The floor on the newer trucks was raised in this area where our's is flat. Just takes a long bolt and some square tubing is what I used.

Tilt column came out of the 72 I just bought...

There is plenty of leg room right now, but im using a 13.5" wheel which when tilted to my comfort level is almost straight up and down. Love it

I'll be buying these exact same seats for the 72 in a few weeks... I'm very picky about the ride because of my knee (old injury) but these fit perfect. You dont sit too high, not cramped and the arm rest is a great feature.

These came from LKQ recyclers group(formaly known as Midamerica Autoparts) If you want a set let me know what color and I can order you a set. You'll have to come get them though lol.

I thought you said they deliver?
I suppose it's a local only thing, eh?

Anyway, nice seats! Well, actually they look pretty bad in there, but they would look much better in my truck!

Im going to use a similar seat, but my fuel tanks is removed so you get a bout an extra 3-4 inches of space and the seat riser sits flat behind the front mount of the original bench and you dint need a spacer in there
