Dashboard removal, replacement windshield?
First off, how are you guys pulling out your dash? I got the windshield out, and the three bolts on each side of the dash, is it spot welded? It's hard for me to tell...
Also, where do you guys get replacement windshields? Regular autoglass joints or? |

Re: Dashboard removal, replacement windshield?
They are spot-welded at the windshield lip, where the seal sits. Any auto-glass shop should be able to get you a new winshield.

Re: Dashboard removal, replacement windshield?
Yep, there are around 30 or so spot welds on the windshield lip. Drill those out and it will come out.
and You can see the holes in the first picture. Mike |

Re: Dashboard removal, replacement windshield?
Cool thanks for the info. While I'm thinking about it, has anybody used the inner cowl patch panels that are available? I'm trying to see what area they cover exactly, as my truck is a massive rust bucket and has "new" vents that have formed on both sides inside the cowl area..

Re: Dashboard removal, replacement windshield?
In your part of the world it would probably be easier and cheaper to just find a cab with a lot less rust.

Re: Dashboard removal, replacement windshield?
It can be done another way, and it is to cut the dash under the dash pad area to keep from drilling all those spot welds out, and you can spot weld it back into place under the dash pad area sono one will ever see it. It should save a lot of time over cutting the enitre dash out. My .02 Randy
