Gals and their trucks !

Last week while on vacation,I was visiting a few friends in Houston Tx. (cypress) And since they knew I was into early model Chevy p.u.s They had to take me around to show me some of the local auto shops that build trucks etc. Also we had to hit a few local friday/sat. night car hop hangouts. It was more then I expected. Anyway we drove up to a house in a neighborhood, and I was surprized to find. Behind the house in a 2 car garage. A nice 1971 Chevy p.u. LS-6 show truck. about 80% done. Also siting there was a 1935 and 1957 p.u. both nice drivers. Even though it was a small shop (2 car),it was nice. But what surprized me the most was. We were standing there talking to a gal in the shop and I was wondering were the guy was that built these trucks. When my friend started laffing. He said that she was the owner /builder. WoW ! Here you got about a 32 year old single gal. 125lb maybe. Who is a Doctor and as a hobby spends her free time building trucks from the ground up by her self behind her house. My friend said shes done a few nice ones. She does it all. Everything but the engine machine work, painting. After I got back home,I got to wondering just how many gals there are out there, building trucks too ! If you are a gal and do give us some input.
LATER !

Re: Gals and their trucks !

Thats cool, a chic who can doo all her own stuff, wonder who showed her how it was done? Any cool people in her family like Foose? All I can do is help my hubby work on engines...no bodywork though. I do have some knowledge when it comes to engines though.

Welcome to the site!

Re: Gals and their trucks !

I take it back..............I forgot.........

My mother told me the other week she seen a truck coming that looked almost identical to mine(Pre-Cummins smoke)..........She said it would have passed for my '71 C-20, same colors and everything only in really nice shape. Only thing that gave it away was mine isn't on the road at the moment, nor is the body restored..................But she said a young Blonde was driving it..........

I haven't seen this truck yet, but my mother told me she has seen it acouple times since then.........

Re: Gals and their trucks !

I will be glad to help any of the gals with trucks or whatever else they might want to get accomplished. The old Jeep/4 wheel days were a lot of fun with the gals who ( some of them anyway) could be a real match for any guy and they talked the walk to boot!!
Love them gals!!!!
We need a section just for them at what they enjoy, trucks of course, and how they fit in to the formula. I don't care if it's with a wrench in hand or a hairbrush lookin' pretty on the right side, let's see em!!!!!!

Re: Gals and their trucks !

Sorry guys I am back in calif now,not in tx. Houstons ok I guess, but they need to do some work on the roads and traffic. And whats the deal with the wreckers, wow we saw a little fender bender that they drove off. but there were 3 cop cars and must been 40 wreckers. I was thinkin it must be a bad as wreck. Back to her i will tell a friend in houston to try and get some pictures. "Trux" she really does not have much of a shop. No name. Its in a subdivision .Its only a 2 car garage in her back yard. I really did not pay attention to were it was. I know its somewere off 249 hwy. and she said she worked downtown at a hospital.I dont know houston that well just the main streets. We stopped by there and visited maybe a hour with her, then went to a few other shops. She does get out,we seen her driving a 55 pu. with another gal. At a car show off 249,near a Krogers Sat. night. She mention this web site. Hell contact " Tx. Firefighter" she said he gave her a lot of advice. Maybe he knows were she lives. Her nick is "whynot". You Texas boys need to visit calif. We got some fine looking trucks out here, gals too.

Re: Gals and their trucks !

You darn right you have some mighty fine trucks & Gals there in California. My oldest daughter use to live in Southern California and I saw all kinds of really nice trucks and the girls are fine too. But we also have mighty fine girls here in Kentucky too. In fact I raised three beautiful girls and had a hard time with all the boys. All three were real popular in school and all were cheer leaders. I just thank God they took after their Mom and not me so much. Also thank God all three are and will be married. Last one getting married this month. All good men. (with good jobs) A father worries about these things as I am sure some of you are doing at this moment. My three girls (next to my wife) are my pride and joy. They are all three Daddy's girls. OK, enought on my pride. I just can not help but bragging on them Sorry.
