'68 on the side of the road
Stopped when I seen this.(not sure where to post) Good body. Nice paint. New chrome. Aftermarket temp controls(air?) CD player. Late model cloth seats. Engine? Tranny? Exhaust seems to hang low underneath. $12,900 Is it me or does this seem a little high. We are spoiled here in the south.

Re: '68 on the side of the road
Sharp truck, LOVE the torque thurst II rims. That baby might have a sweet motor and tranny in her, have to look at it up close to see if it was a true frame off, but otherwise 12K does seem a little high.

Re: '68 on the side of the road
hood on the PS close to the cowl needs realignment. It looks high on the PS and low on the DS.
nice truck. depending on what's underneath, in the suspension, in the bed, stereo and drivetrain, might be worth it. Looks show worthy from those pics.

Re: '68 on the side of the road
Typical weak hinge. Just a push will solve it most of the time.

Re: '68 on the side of the road
looks sharp from the pics. you have to consider how much it would cost to put one together yourself. around here your gonna pay 8-10 for a nice one, than how much more for wheels/tires, lowering, drivetrain etc.
Or 2-5 thousand for on that needs to be restored, could easily put 10K into restoring one , so, hard to say, Id say its probbably not to far off.

Re: '68 on the side of the road
Restorations vary and labor isn't cheap. You've got a point. This is a good looking truck. Just not in the market right now. But I will stop and look at any that catch my eye.

Re: '68 on the side of the road
That truck looks very nice and would more than likely sell for around the asking price here in So. Cal.

Re: '68 on the side of the road
It's hard to say from those pictures. My 72 C10 is insured for 14K which is pretty close to what I have in it. I have seen trucks that look MUCH worse than mine that people are asking much more for. If it's not full of filler and the resto work has all been documented, its probably well worth what they are asking.

Re: '68 on the side of the road
I agree with what`s been said.People on this board can be hard critics on truck/parts prices. It`s good to see some are open to the fact that a nice truck can be worth some money.Fact is,the good stuff is worth alot of money. There`s alot of these trucks and lot`s of parts in general. There`s the cream, then the rest of various value. It`s hard to explain to the less aware. But,there are those that base prices of lesser caliber stuff on the cost of prime and it`s not worth comparison.Like anything, when spendin`the big bucks look them over hard, ask alot of questions, and know your stuff.Nothing like plunkin`down the big bucks on a throw-together or cover-up truck.
BTW,Nice Lookin`Truck!

Re: '68 on the side of the road
Truck has a crate 350/330, with less than 1,000 miles. 350TH trans. Owner says solid cab, no cut rockers. PM for info if interested.

Re: '68 on the side of the road
I agrre with everyone who believes the price could be as it is. Here in Northern Cali I have seen P.O.S. trucks rusted rockers and in need of a total restore to make them decent go for around 6k. A driver with some crappy 15" rims, in primer with many things needed are listed int he local truck traders for like 6-8k. Now factor in 3k for decent paint job, 2k for a decent set of wheels and and all the lil things that nickle and dime us to death you can easily put 15-20k into a truck with out realy trying too. I had over 15k into my last truck the one on the avatar and the damn didnt even have paint on it. So it is very easy to see why people ask and sell there items for what they feel they are worth. Recently I saw a few on the SF bay area craigs list one for 18k and one for 25k both sharp trucks... I am sure some one with tooooo much extra cash will buy them quick.. So if you really have a nice truck not in need of a lot of work they can become very pricey, remind you that these 2x4 short fleets are becoming the full on trend....

Is this truck in Lenoir? I run service calls in Hickory twice a week.

Re: '68 on the side of the road
Twelve grand for that old truck! That's nuts . For that kind of money you could buy a slightly used Cavalier or Sunfire that get way better gas milage.

Re: '68 on the side of the road
If I had the money I would jump all over that truck. You are hard pressed to build and paint one and have work done it for that kind of money.
