Brown's new wheels

Well guys, I couldn't find anything at the portland swap meet so I ended up ordering a set of 15x8 and 15x10 Torque Thrust II's with standard backspacing. I have to say they look better than I thought they would but unfortunately the rear tires now rub when a hit a large bump(very large only like 4 spots in my daily route) and to order another set of 10's with a .25"-.5" more backspace is $55ea. I might do that if I can't find a different solution or I might go with Ken's Idea and spend a little more money for 17's....anyway just thought I'd show you guys the look, lol, might be gone tomorrow.

BabyBlue that looks awesome. Those wheels really changed the look of your truck. It looked god before, but I like this look much better. What ever you do, don't ruin a set of tires with it rubbing.

Re: Brown's new wheels

For a 10" wheel I would go with a 5.5"-6" backspace.

lol, no problem. The truck was dropped a while ago so the front is dropped about 6" all on coil, the rear is a flip kit and shackle/hangar kit and I believe that makes that like 7" or so... as for tires and wheels these are standard offset 15x8" (front) and 15x10" (rear) Torque Thrust II's, I believe the standard backspacing is 3.75", and the tires are front - 265/50/15's and rear - 295/50/15's. Need anything else just ask

N2TRUX...here are the pics, still not level ground but a lot better than before...

Re: Brown's new wheels

Looks real nice, I like the colour too! I agree with Ken, don't ruin your tires. Trade em up or sell em while still new and get the right fit. maybe go 16 in the back if 17 is too rich?

Re: Brown's new wheels

awsome truck. you should post a big 1024x768 or bigger pic of the last shot, the one 2ntrux said was your money shot.

i would love to have that as my background. if you will, email it to me at cghbmh@adelphia.net and i can host it full size.

Q? for ya..But first of all.. GREAT LOOKING TRUCK!!!

Q?Are the rims you have on the back also 3.75" BS?

I also have a 78' that I am almost done with. I have almost the identical setup you have. Springs & Spindles up front. Flip in the rear. I already bought rims for it. I bought the rims after tearing down the truck so I am not absolutely positive they fit perfect or notI did measure and theoretically they should but I buffered in a lip roll for the rear. They clear all the calipers and steering. You can see a shot of both wheels F*R but no bed. I think it's gonna be close.

I'm at this point now

BTW.. That "Run To the end of the World" down there is awesome.

Thanks for the compliment and second, your truck is looking pretty good too.

Yes they are 10" wide wheels with 3.75" (standard for AR TTII) backspacing in the back, and if your truck is a SWB then they seem to fit fine....but I think you'll end up like me with a stepside bed.

P.S. Make sure you post some pics when you get done, I'm already in suspense waiting to see it

Ha ha!! A stepside is what I will be running .. Just didn't post the pics . (It is in my Signature) No worries.

It's much further along now. All in primer. Chain mounts removed and all stake pockets and markers filled (long story). Waiting to finish up all the masking to shoot. Should be sometime this week. (Hopefully ) I'll post up pictures once I've shot it.

Cheers!
