Talking oil filter adapter check this out!

Another question, the vortec engine I am using had an oil cooler, so the oil filter attachment has the cooler lines running back to above the oil filter.

I want to put a regular oil filter adapter on the block so I can use a (ph52-i think that is the right number) regular 350 truck filter, the size that holds about one quart of oil.

Does anyone have a part number for this? The adapter for the full size oil filter.

Thanks for the help.

Re: oil filter adapter check this out!

A friend gave me an adapter, So I dont have a part# I use AC filter #1218, which is the filter for a 96 305. It is about the same size as the old 1 quart filter. Someone may chime in on this one.

It may be a fram number, but that is not the issue, we all know fram filters suck!!! I just need an adapter for the full size filter. Maybe a pf52, Iknow the 25 filter is the same diameter just shorter. 25 refering to the ac delco part number.

There are 3 sizes of oil filter for small block Chevys. The two everyone knows about (ph30 and ph13) and one that only a few people know about. The Wix part number is 51794. It's a 2-quart filter and it will fit most of our trucks.
