Re: My motor RPMs don't seem right
Did the tach come out of a 6cyl model? Also, your converter may not be a locking convertor, and it wouldn't lock up regarless unless you've installed a switch or lock up kit.

Re: My motor RPMs don't seem right
How do you have the torque converter clutch wired up? On my 700R4 I had to jump two of the transmission connector pins together in addition to connecting a third pin to a switched 12V source (routed through a brake switch and a vacuum switch) as shown in the following image I got from this website:

Re: My motor RPMs don't seem right
I got the complete relay kit from BTO here: http://www.bowtieoverdrives.com/cata...SUBCAT&CATID=O and used their instructions. It never called for jumping wires like that, but had wires and connectors all premade.
I'm not so concerned about TCC lockup right now as I am getting my speed and tach set right. Once I get the bigger concerned nailed down then I'll spend more time on this lockup problem... JimPA - 99% sure when I put it in the truck it has an 8cyl on the back, because that's when I noticed the calibration hole. Someone said in an earlier post that this read high with age, if that's the case can't you recalibrate instead of replacing it? Last edited by Jakes-66-K10; 11-10-2005 at 03:21 PM. |
