Just ordered new weatherstripping for my hardtop were it mounts on the bed rails and the top of the windshield. Do you guys glue the weatherstipping to the hardtop? Or does the weatherstripping just lay in between? If it's glued, anyone know what the factory used? Rubber Cement? Silicone?

I just used weather strip adhesive (rubber cement). From pealing off the old stuff, it appears the factory used something black. It may have even been an adhesive strip or tape of some kind.

I had to use some Gorilla Snot (super weatherstrip adhesive) in a few places because the rubber cement wasn't holding well enough.

I have been using the weatherstip adhesive from LMC around my doors. Have not got to the hard top yet. Appears to be holding real good.

Try the 3M Super Weatherstrip Adhesive in black. The one Bouncy mentioned. Apply it to the top and let it tack up first and then install your gaskets to the top.

Yeah know, I thought about using some of that stuff, but as I recall, it is kind of messy. I also wasn't sure if it would harm the rubber, but I guess I didn't really think it through. Maybe next spring when I put the soft top back on, I'll redo the rubber around the doors with that stuff.
