grommet problem

In an effort to solve my oil in breather problem I went looking for grommets as an easy solution. I have morrso valve covers just stamped steel I think painted to match truck no baffles. At napa I found two grommets one with a baffle build into the grommet and one I can cut my self both say fit 1 1/4 holes. Anyway when I get home both are to loose dont fit tight at all. Is there a wider valve cover hole than 1 1/4 or were these just poorly made?( mr gasket).

Thanks

Re: grommet problem

The only sizes I see in summit and jegs are 1 1/4 and 1.22 OD. I assume the 1.22 is even smaller than 1 1/4.

Re: grommet problem

yea i was going to mention summit earlier, but you're right, i don't remember them selling anything other than 1 1/4. there's probably a bunch of companies out there, try a yahoo or google search, ebay search, and try different auto part stores like autozone, oreily's and advance autoparts instead of trusting napa to have what you need.

Re: grommet problem

Ok went to moroso's web site, they say pcv part #68772 comes with my valve covers. When I look up these numbers they say 1.22 OD. Could it be the mister gasket ones I got just suck. And if I get the moroso ones they will fit better?
