Weatherstrip on now door won't close

I out new weatherstipping on my driver's side door and now I have to slam the door just to get it to close all the way. Is this normal? I got all of the old weatherstripping off before putting on the new. Will it settle or did I do something wrong?

Aren't door seals a pain in the butt? I installed new seals a month ago and only now are they settling in properly. You had to close the door with some authority shortly after installation. Just make sure everything is seating properly when the door is closed.
Also, it helps to cut a small slot near the joint to allow air to escape and enter. When I open my pass. door you can hear the seal sucking air in, lol (SSSSST).

You can wish in one hand and crap in the other.
See which one gets filled first.

Some door seals are better than others---softer---and they do not close so hard.
I just did window regulators in my truck. One rolls up & down really easy...the other goes down easy, but up is a bear! I don't know what is going on...maybe sprung/damaged door. Remember, "If it is reproduction, you are going to have to work with it to make it fit"!!!

Lightbulb

After I installed mine I had the same problem but a few quick adjustments to the stricker plate and they were shutting great! As long as your doors are bolted on in the correct location, (lined up with body lines and the in/out of the door is correct, all that should be needed is a tweak or two at the stricker.

Don't put up with slamming your doors, you really don't have to.
