A little sound insualtion...
So i decided to keep my cab rather than swap one out, i need new doors but thats an easy bolt on. I cleaned up all my old welds (high school) and seam sealed the hell out of the ACK - lap welds, oops, anyways the floor got a coat of rubberized ashphalt (tried to cheap route) that stuff was tough to work with and messy and smelly, so this week i ordered up some B-quiet Ultimate, $140 CDN for 50 sq feet, which woulda been enough for the floor behind seat doors and firewall. So with the help of my girlfriend we did behind the seat, the firewall and up under tha dash...
Theres a few shots that might be confusing, they're the passenger side looking up under the dash. I still have a bout 20 sq feet left, this stuff made a HUGE difference, i don't have a Db meter but i'm more than impressed since i still have the metal roof and nothing in the doors right now. I would highly recommend www.b-quiet.com, they shipped to me in under 2 days and the product is very easy to work with. I basically sprayed some brake clean on the area and wiped it down with a rag, this stuff sticks great it isn't coming off at all. Next weekend is the headliner and maybe some jute padding to absorb sound even more. The best part was getting rid of the ugly, dusty, broken cracked useless firewall pad that used to be there, i trimmed carefully around all firewall connections and such, the truck will be alot warmer/cooler too because of all the little holes that got covered. I can't say enough about these guys send em an e-mail and you'll get a reply the next day they can tell you anything, i just wish i had used the stuff on the floor of my truck too.

Now that thats done me might be able to convince you take 5 seconds and spray some primer on where we welded your roll pan in.

Re: A little sound insualtion...
no scuffle , Jason can be a HACk all he wants :mp:
just jokin IM razzin him , a few weeks ago we welded in his roll pan all smooth and sexy like, BUt instead of shooting some more primer on so you could tell at a glace its all smooth and wicked hes got big rusty grinder marks all over, actually 2 squares on either side so It looks like the roll pan is narrow and floating at the moment. GORD , get those pics ytuo have posted on here, your truck is bad ass ,

Re: A little sound insualtion...
Wow 3 posts when there was only a total of 5, way to go matt :andy:
and by the way it wasn't all *****in smooth and there was still a chunk of bondo on the one side where we have to knock the bedside out, so leave me and my (surface) rusty roll pan alone, :m4:

Thanks for the information, I am just getting ready to put my cab on and was wondering what to use to calm down the road noise. Looks like this product will work out great!
