Re: Who needs floor space...

y didnt you build a box for behind the seat ? i put two truck boxes back there and was gonna have my sirius setup (attached to a piece of 1/8" plywood) back there between them but i decided to sell the whole SIRIUS setup and just use my CD player (under my seat)
i did think about building a box for behind the seats with 2-10's but im not a big bass fan (i like but not that much). more than enough room back there for a box.
just curius since you loose all that floor space for any passengers (wife,girlfriends,buddies-both genders)

Probably has a gas tank in the way.

Good security tip, toss your coat over the box, it'll just look like you are a slob.

if you're always driving, don't stop. if you park it and leave that easily seen like that, somebody's going to steal it for sure.

Re: Who needs floor space...

What size sub is that and how many cubic feet is the box? It looks pretty big, and I bet it plays pretty low.

The box is almost even with the door opening. It's not real easy to see unless you are right next to the truck. The sub is all the way under the dash.

It's right at 1 cuft. I think should have ported it but I grew impatient building it and said if I don't like the sound of it I'll pull it out and port it.

Re: Who needs floor space...

70short: Nice enclosure! If you have removed the gas tank, that is a nice solution. I am going to assume that pebbleboy is using a 12" sub that requires a lot of air space/large enclosure to perform. I originally did four 8" subs under my seat. They each required .33 cu. ft. for optimum performance. I had each pair sharing a .6 cu. ft. I have since changed to a pair of 10" subs that require .66 cu. ft each for optimum performance. If behind the seat is not an option for you, do your homework to make sure the subs work well in small enclosures. Also, either way, double check how deep the sub is physically.

Here's mine old set up.

Did you have to lose the parking brake pedal to use those kick panels? I don't see it there.

Re: Who needs floor space...

Oh yeah, lost the e-brake. To put things in perspective, I drive this truck an average of 500 miles a year. In the almost six years that I have owned it, I have yet to be able to enjoy it. Plans for 2006 are to drive the pi$$ out of it! I plan of hitting several Spring cruise-ins and hopefully the Hot Rod Power Tour.

What's wrong with that? I would say more like a "tingling sensation"
