Need Photoshop help w/ Project Suburba-lanche

Hello & Howdy Photoshopers,
After seeing some of the ability of those who know how to use Photoshop I thought I would elist some help with a possible project.
My wife loves the Chevy Avalanche and thinks she wants one for her next vehicle in a couple of years. I love my 72 C10 and really really don't want to shell out the dough for something new that is only good for 100k miles when my truck could have a sister soooo easily. So...... here is the idea
Take a 71 or 71 'burb and cut in behind the rear doors removing the roof & windows but leaving the sides and rear drop hatch, then take the back of a truck cab and weld it on making a rear window and meeting the indsides of the rear area. Then finish out the rear insides and add a short hard cover and taa daa you have a retro Avalanche....whatda think.
Problem is my wife ain't great at seeing stuff in her head, this is the reason that I would like some mock up pics of what is might look like. I can draw pretty well but pics in full color would help soooo much.
Anyway if she goes for it I figure I can do the whole deal for less that 1/2 of a new truck and it would be paid for w/o depreciation no less
Allthoughts are welcome and if anyone else likes the idea and wants to build one first go for it....that way I can show her a finished truck before we even start
Thanks in advance,
1 Leg Lance

Very Cool

This is already better than what I was thinking it would look like.
I will give you her impression when she sees the pics....
Anyones thoughts on if this would work or not....
Any 'burb owners know what problems I might incounter?
Thanks again,

I think it would look a lot better than a real Avalanche... Heh.
That escalade is cute too.

I'd be very interested to see the final result if you go through with it... Keep us posted!

I think this is what the guy down the street from my dad's is having built - a proper crew-cab with a tiny bed! It won't be done for another few months, but when it is, I'll definitely get some pics...

I've seen that exact thing done with a '73-'87 'burb. IMHO, it is the ugliest most vile thing there is next to an avalanche. I wouldn't wish that on a good 'burb any day of the week.

Just my opinion though, your's may vary...

my nieghbor down the road has one he built several years ago. He took a Suburban and moved the rear hatch to behind the 2nd seat (I think it still opens). I asked him a year or so ago about selling it (it's been setting for a few years out by the barn) and he said it was part of the family....... I need to get some pics of it some time. His current project is a 41 chevy truck on a S-10 frame he had modified. I need to go look at it also.....All I need is time time time time...............................................

I should note that my neighbor is using two pickup cabs and a Suburban for the conversion, not to mention a very good body man - he's having the fourth door fabbed as a mirror to the burb's 3rd door.

Personally, I like the look of the Avalanche, especially without all of that plastic.
