700R4/V8 in forward position/1pc Driveshaft
Just looking at another post kinda put something together I never thought about.
The ol`"swappin`a V8/Auto into a shortbed 6cyl/3spd truck and keeping the 1pc driveshaft forward/lengthen or rearward/stock length" thing.I know measuring the "actual" set-up is necessary, but it seems the 700R4 is as much longer than a TH350 as the driveshaft is too short with the V8 mounted in the V8 position, follow me?Has anyone done this with no driveshaft mods?Pretty dang close.

I done is several times before.
An original 6 cyl 3 speed 1 piece driveshaft is the right length if you put the V8 in proper forward position on V8 stands and use either a 9 inch TH350 or a 700R4 trans. Both trans are the same length.

Thanks Tx,good to know for sure.I`ve never started with a 6cyl/3spd shortbed for a project and have one I`m gettin`ready to start.I had an M21 and got screwed out of it.I have a TH350 from a`71 C/20,but I think I wanna do an o/d trans, now.
