Drop springs

Ok I want to do a 3/4 is drop on my 70 long bed. So I was thinking of just getting coils front and back because I can't afford lowering spindles. Will I still be able to do an alignment on it and everything? And will I need lowering shocks front and rear?

Re: Drop springs

Yes, you will be able to align the front end with a 3 inch coil drop unless something has been bent in the past.

You don't absolutely need new shocks for this drop, but it will ride much better with some drop shocks and rear shock relocators. It all comes down to how bad you want to save money versus have a real good ride.

Re: Drop springs

My dad's 70 is lowered with new 4" rear coils and cut front coils (about 2.5" or so) with no problems at all. He had new KYB shocks already on the truck before the drop and it still rides fine now. It looks and handles waaaayyy better with the drop.
