? on new production door shells
Are the new production door shells of the same guage as the originals? I'm trying to decide if it's worth buying new door shells for my burb or fixing the old ones.
I am interested in knowing if they are exact reproductions, or "work just as good". I need info from somebody who has no stake in selling me new doors, so I can get the real scoop. Thanks.

Re: ? on new production door shells
jk........I just finished my truck this past Spring.....I have a Goodmark door on my Pass. side and a LMC door on the Dr. side.....they both fit ok but they are definately not of the same gauge and quality of the originals.....I would say the Goodmark is the better of the two and I wish I would have bought that one for the dr. side. If I had it to do over I would look for rust free originals before going with repops....that is just my 2c....

I have heard many bad things about the repops, but Rick980 is installing some and he has stated they look ok so far.

Re: ? on new production door shells
Don't know if it applies, but I just reskinned the doors on the Blazer with Triplus(Goodmark) skins, and they are definitely thinner and lighter than the originals. They look good, but don't know how they will hold up over the long haul. Jeff.

Re: ? on new production door shells
I ordered new Goodmark doors for both sides. They haven't come yet, but Once they do I'll let everyone know how they fit/weigh in vs. the originals.

Re: ? on new production door shells
I've seen a few repro doors and not all that excited about them. Personally, I wouldn't use any, would rather take the time to fix the originals.
