Auto tilt column to floor shift tilt conversion - is it possible ?

Found an auto tilt column, the PO has sawed off the end under the hood where the auto linkage attaches, I want to use this for a floor shift type also so thats no problem, but I have a floor shift column and was wondering if I could use the shift socket cup from it and install on the tilt column for a cleaner look ? It is also missing the turn signal switch and lever, will the switch from the non tilt column work on it ? Thanks in advance.

I've been told that the colar wouldn't work, however, HUCK's old truck had a tilt, and the colar was off a straight column, so there's no tellin what is fact and what is not.

I am thinking not... I THINK the tilt one has the light for the PRND21 indicator and IIRC that is part of the turn signal switch assembly.

Re: Auto tilt column to floor shift tlt conversion - is it possible ?

Since we are trying to finish the PO's attempt to make it a floor shift, I guees we don't care about the indicator light, if the switch will fit and work would be mostly what we are wondering. The good news is he is selling the partially hacked column for only $20, just trying to see if we can make something usable out of it for out floor shift project.

Adaptions have been done. But,I have no idea how they went about it.I`d buy it,it`s worth $20 for parts. Is it a truck or van type?

Re: Auto tilt column to floor shift tlt conversion - is it possible ?

Yukon Jack just posted his how to last week on here. Shouldn't be too hard to find. He did his by grinding the shifter mount and indicator mounts off and filling them with JBWeld. Looks good. I'm going to try and do mine like you are talking about. Swap the floor shift housing into the column. Jeff.
