Carb Choke Wiring Question

Where does everyone splice their choke positive wire to? I got my new Edelbrock 1806 and am installing it this weekend but didn't really know where to connect the positive wire for the choke to and was hoping to get some ideas from you guys. PO decided not to hook up the electric choke on the old carb or I would just use that one.

Re: Carb Choke Wiring Question

I ran a wire to a switched terminal on the fuse block on my wife's '63 and my son's '67, seems to work well.

Re: Carb Choke Wiring Question

Some people splice right from the IGN wire on the dizzy.
I like to leave that wire alone.
I used the IGN on the fuse block.
As long as it is switched power your good.

Re: Carb Choke Wiring Question

There is a vacant 12v connection at the fuse box that is powered when the ignition switch is on . That is where I ran the choke wire ,I also placed a fuse in line with it .

Re: Carb Choke Wiring Question

Some of the factory electric choke set-ups run thru an oil pressure switch.

Re: Carb Choke Wiring Question

I found a wire the PO hacked off. It may have been a transmission spark control wire. I don't care what it was. It was hot when the ignition was on, not when off so I hooked my choke into that.
