Re: longhorn/camper special

Check Andy's (LONGHORN MAN) sig for the link to his Longhorn page,
there is a lot of great info on that site, not sure what all it covers

Re: longhorn/camper special

Technically having the 8 1/2 ft bed both are longhorns, but only the Chevrolet version had the Longhorn badges by the bed rear side quarters, the GMC version was know as Custom Camper, I should know as I own 1 lol, the custom camper plate was located on the doors between the window and the dooor handle.

Is yours a 3/4 ton or 1 ton, the 1 tone ones are more rare.

Re: longhorn/camper special

the one tons are less common, byt they are all built on the one ton frame.
If you have an 81/2 foot bed, then it don't matter what cab you use... your body will be sitting on a longhorn frame anc chassis.
It'll be a longhorn...or custom camper if you like, but that leads to confusion as you could get custom camper as an option package which was nothing more than a sway bar, HD tires, HD springs, and badging.

Personally, i'd just call it a longhorn. My chevy c/30 longhorn has a GMC front clip on it, and I have longhorn badges on it. Well...I had them, they both fell off and made me almost cry upon noticing.

Re: longhorn/camper special

My '71 GMC says Z81 Special Camper on the GB sticker, but I only have an 8 foot bed. I guess I have something altogether different. I DO have 3 gas tanks though, does anybody know the capacity of them? Thanks, Mike
