cold weather noises

Since the weather has turned really cold my truck is makeing two new sounds.

One, right when I start it kind of a high pitch noise goes away after a few minutes depending on how cold it is. I am thinking alt?

Second when it is really cold and I turn sharp when going slow sounds almost like tire rubbing but it is not and only does it when cold. Could it be just some weird vibrations from body flex? It does rattle alot more when cold. Or maybe the gearbox?

Re: cold weather noises

If the first noise isn't a belt squeel I would take the belts off and spin on everything. Mine did the same and the bearings in the alt were bad. You got me on the second one.
