Rochester carb years question

Does anyone know what's the latest yr. Rochester quadrajet our trucks can use? I currently have a '78 carb(#17058213) on my '69 and was considering putting a '69 carb on my truck. Also was wondering if most people like the 67-72 carbs or carbs after these yrs. Thanks for any comments.

Re: Rochester carb years question

I use the Rochester Q-Jets. Always have good luck with them. I run a 73 model on my daily driver but have 72 types on my other trucks. Holly offers them remanufactured for around $275.00. ('72 # - 7042211 0512 GF)

Re: Rochester carb years question

I have a Carter Quadrajet from a '76 2wd Blazer on my truck. My Uncle put a 4bbl Edelbrock on his Blazer then he ended up selling it, but he kept the original carb and gave it to me. I'd like to find an original numbers matching 69-70 carb though.

Re: Rochester carb years question

Problem with older carbs is wear. A newer low mileage carb will perform better. Rochester of course. Without looking original, there are some nice options out there for comperable money.
