Re: Some of my 67's

I bought these for $300 each and yes I drove the both home. the red one I've put a new winshield in and got the 292 running better but I think it will get a V8 soon. It has 198K on it. I have all the paper work on it to 96'. The Blue one is 250-4sp granny low, 135K on it. The cab has zero rust. I'd like to put in on a 4x4 frame eventually. In OKLA there are quite a few of these left but are easy to come by as they once were.

Oh, can anyone show me what a "shiny Vermillion Red" truck looks like out of curiosity.

Re: Some of my 67's

I like that I have all the history on the red one. That 292 has had like 3 valve jobs and 2 heads on it. It was bought brand new just 10 miles away. One old man(who has since died) had it and his grandson said he was on oxygen and wanted to get it going so he could drive to the liqour store. that right there justifies making it a driver again. I got a better column for it from like 68 truck w/48K. I think I might put a 283 w/ 305 heads in it just to be different. I might repaint the top, bumpers, grille white and keep the patina look going or give it a quickie paint. I want this one to be a parts chaser but be reliable.

Board member "Walker" has one that is really nice. I'll have one too before long, if the body shop ever finishes it.

Re: Some of my 67's

cool. Thanks. I've seen it in paint chip books but it doesn't really do it justice. Most of these trucks in Vermillion red are faded a lot lighter than what that truck above is.
I got the grille for my ver red truck. When I got it they had took it and and the hood and replaced them with GMC grille and head lights. Today I did a compression check on a 305 from a 84 Fbody car and they were all around 150 so it might go in there with some freshening(cam, timing chain and oil pump)
